Botox(BOTOX™ Cosmetic)
BOTOX™ Cosmetic is the most requested anti-aging procedure. It is a purified protein toxin produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria. Although BOTOX™ Cosmetic is a toxin, there have been no serious side effects reported. This is because it is used in extremely small amounts and does not spread throughout the body.
A few drops of BOTOX™ Cosmetic are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that creates a wrinkle. BOTOX™ Cosmetic blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, causing the muscle to relax. As a result, the wrinkles in the overlying skin gradually soften, and sometimes even disappear, which leads to a more youthful, rested appearance. The most commonly treated areas are crows feet, frown lines, and forehead lines.

What to Expect During Botox® Treatment
After your physician discusses with you which of your facial muscles will need injection, Botox® Cosmetic treatment will consist of your physician injecting very small amounts into the areas to be treated. Botox® injectable skin treatments are very quick.
Recovery and Results
Recovery following Botox® treatment is usually very brief, and you will be able to resume most normal activities immediately. It is recommended that you do not lie down for several hours after the procedure, and that you refrain from massaging the treated area or participating in particularly strenuous activities for 24 hours.
